Pak Media take on mubai terror attack

This guy on the show, Zaid Hamid, who is supposed to be a defence analyst and I pity pakistan to be having such people.
He goes on to say that the whole terror attack is a staged one which went awry and now India is blaming Pakistan for that.
The lady hosting the show (she looks like a complete comedian) asks pretty silly question and this guy answers with all vigor and validates his reasoning.
The other lady on the show is a parliamentarian, who is more interested in showing her vocabulary skills.

I came to be aware of many issues that is prevailing in India that they Pakistan is concerned about and I really appreciate it.

Please watch the entire episode, part 1 to 5. I found this to be better than the comedy shows that happen on Indian television channels.

I have laughed so much that my stomach aches now, thanks to these 3 that I am able to forget for a moment all the sad things happened in the last week.

All I can say to these is to 'Growing old is Mandatory, Growing Up is optional' so GROW UP.

Let us outsource Security and Political work

A strange thought came to my mind seeing the loopholes and the way our Policy makers behave and act during the state of emergency.
What happened for nearly 3 days from 26th November 2008 (26/11) will always remain etched in all our minds for a long long time and will go down in the history as the day where the entire nation was brought down to its knee and was caught with our pants down by a handful of mercenaries from across the border and our government is still napping to point the fingers towards Pakistan, I think we lack the guts of what US has when it was attacked on 9/11, this is what US would have done if it had happened to them
1) Give an ultimatum (maybe 2 weeks or so) to Pakistan to take out the terror training camps in its soil
2) Ask them to hand over LeT commander and Dawood to India within a week
3) Go inside Pakistan (if they don't comply) and take out the terror training camps on its own
4) Put international sanctions immediately to Pakistan so that its crippled economically unless it complies in eliminating all its terror camps

Since I do not see this being done by our Indian government, it would be best for us to outsource all political and security related aspects to US like how they outsource technology work to our country, there are some things we aren't capable of handling or doing and it is time we realize it and let those are capable of doing it to run it effectively.

Yes I am taken over by emotions and may have written this out of anger, but it definitely makes a lot of sense to do this.

All INDIA Terror help line - 1090 (toll free)

I recieved the below information in my email.
"In case you come across any suspicious activity, any suspicious movement or have any information to tell to the Anti-Terror Squad, please take a note of the new ALL INDIA TOLL-FREE Terror Help-line "1090". Your city's Police or Anti-Terror squad will take action as quickly as possible.
Remember that this single number 1090 is valid all over India.
This is a toll free number and can be dialed from mobile phones also. Moreover, the identity of the caller will be kept a secret.
Store this number in your handset.
Please cascade this information to as many people as possible.
It isn't only the Government's responsibility to check terrorism."

Irony is that, I checked the GOI website (http://india.gov.in/) but could not find this information listed anywhere.

When will this mayhem end

Yesterday will be the darkest day for me in the recent past for what has happened in Mumbai and my heart goes out to all people of Mumbai, who are to me the bravest lot at present, these are the people who have withstood time and again the attacks meted out to them.

What would those terrorists be thinking when they pulled the trigger, how can they be so cruel and kill innocent people, if they have an agenda and want to prove then they should fight with the right people and not the general public, we have army for this and waiting for such people to be fought. The pictures shown on TV of the terrorists, show them all to be in thier young age, what would have drove them to commit such a dastardly crime, I just hope that those not turn our to be Indian youths, then we have a larger issue to fight, our own inefficient system which ends up breeding such people. I just wish they are not from this country.

When will this mayhem end and when do we give out strong replies to those involved not just by our voice but something concrete action, I think our intelligence is better than what is being portrayed and we are sure they would be aware of who is behind this and that this attack would have been known atleast to some extent.

I have visited US in recent past, the kind of security checks/being prepared for the worst is the best I have seen, there are absolutely no lapses whatsoever, compared to this, even after repeated attacks in our homeland the government has absolutely failed to instill any confidence to the common man, we are back on our feet after every such disaster is not because of any assurance or safety measures that the government has taken, but because we are all a resilient lot and we know there is no other way for us, WE ARE LIVING WITH A GOVERNMENT (not taking any political party's side) WHICH IS INCOMPETENT AND CARES A DAMN TO THE CAUSE OF A COMMON MAN.

Our own parliament was attacked and what happened, those involved in the attack are still at large or in prison and we are able to nail them down and I am sure this is not the last and there would be many more.

Should I consider myself lucky that I stay in Hyderabad and happened in Mumbai and not here? I really do not know what to say, but what assurance do we have that this wont happen anywhere else. Every time we step into a crowded place or a bus or a train we hope that this wont be the last day of my life.

It wont take even 3 - 4 days for this news to disappear to a small column in page 9 or 10 or the newspapers and all of us focusing on the IPL cricket matches or discuss what movies will the Sharukhs/Salmans/Akshays be acting in and which heroine twisted her ankle and what new product are our cricketers endorsing and see how the opposition and the ruling parties fight it out as to who is better to handle the situation, will this ever change???

We can only pray that whoever is behind these attack realize that all this are wrong and stop by themselves, because there is no way our government is capable of stopping this.

Let us all pray that all those who have been killed and their soul rest in peace and sincerely wish that all this ends today.

Top 50 Football Goals

Not my compilation, but liked it very much.
Excellent one. Aptly my fav Maradona has taken the place he deserves - No 1.

Funny moments in the football field

This refree, not sure what his name is, is like billy bowden in cricket, very very animated on the field and looks more like a ballet dancer :)

Ronaldinho vs Ronaldo - Whos the best!!!!

Hmm, not very easy, judge for yourself.
Cool video

The Best Dribbles Of The World

Maradona triggered my search for football related videos, here is one which I liked.

Diego Armando Maradona

Was reading the news that Maradona has been appointed as Coach of Argentina, it triggered off a series of thoughts on this great personality
Maradona - The name brings joy to so many people who follow football, even my mother knew who Maradona was, though she never followed the game, such is the charisma of this guy, he made everyone happy just by the way he played the game, so I started searching for his videos, found many, the one that am posting below is really a tribute to his gamesmanship and I sincerely hope he brings back all the glory back to Argentina.
Even though I dont play football (tried during my schooling), I wish if I ever became a football player in my next avatar (they say every human has 7 lives, and wishing this isnt my 7th ;) ), I wish to be born as this great person :)

Amazon Web Services + Oracle

Now AWS, has offered Oracle products (Oracle Database, Middleware and Enterprise Manager products), with this Oracle customers can now either have new license or use the existing one on the AWS, AWS has many images which are bundled with Oracle products and within minutes end users can have thier Oracle system up and running without bothering about installation, configuration etc, this is defnitely a boon to all those companies who spend tons of money on so called administrators for doing simple things.

Amazon Web services(AWS)
is the web services platform, where one can request and use IT
infrastructure services which is scalable, reliable, secure,
cost-effective and is a comprehensive solution.

Using this service one pays for only what one uses, with no obligation
to stay forever, all you need to do is sign-up for the service, as and
when your IT demand increases you can keep adding more machines and
start disbanding them once the load decreases. For startups it makes a
lot of economic sense.

AWS is a collection of infrastructure services (Below excerpt taken from http://aws.amazon.com/what-is-aws/)
  • Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2™)
    – A web service that provides resizable compute capacity in the cloud.
Configure an Amazon Machine Instance (AMI) and load it into the Amazon EC2 service. Quickly scale capacity, both up and down, as your computing requirements change. Learn more about Amazon EC2

  • Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3™)
    – A simple web services interface that can be used to store and
retrieve large amounts of data, at any time, from anywhere on the web.
It gives any developer access to the same highly scalable, reliable,
fast, inexpensive data storage infrastructure that Amazon uses to run
its own global network of web sites. Learn more about Amazon S3™

  • Amazon SimpleDB™
    – A web service for running queries on structured data in real time.
This service works in close conjunction with Amazon Simple Storage
Service (Amazon S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2),
collectively providing the ability to store, process and query data
sets in the cloud. Amazon SimpleDB is easy to use and provides the core
functionality of a database—real-time lookup and simple querying of
structured data—without the operational complexity. Learn more about Amazon SimpleDB™

  • Amazon Simple Queue Service (Amazon SQS™) – A reliable, highly scalable, hosted queue for storing messages as they travel between computers. By using Amazon SQS,
developers can simply move data between distributed components of their
applications that perform different tasks, without losing messages or
requiring each component to be always available. Learn more about Amazon SQS

Funny airport annoucements

I was looking for this funny airport announcements for quite sometime, earlier one of my friends had sent me this as a word document attachment, but I had misplaced, finally got this link.
These pranksters would go to the airport and look for flights from middle east and ask the airport help desk with a note having the passenger name (obviously fictitious) which are very hard to pronounce.
Listen to it, they are quite hilarious and funny.

Funny announcements.

AMD PUMA Platform (for laptops)

Till now playing games or watching HD Videos on ones laptop was not such an exciting thing to do due to lack of graphic capability on the laptops.
The IGP (Integrated Graphics Platform) which typically means that the cpu also doubles up for all the graphics work, has been bane to the gaming community, the reason why IGP are choosen for the laptops is that they consume less power, less heat and hence elongated battery life as compared to a discrete graphics card and the industry thinking is that (read Intel) is that since laptops is mostly used by people to work on word documents, surf the web, watch you tube, it is ok to have a weak IGP solution.
But now its a thing of the part, AMD has broken the mold and the new 780G motherboard chipset contacins a HD3200 GPU integrated and has a Turion Ultra processor, this is the PUMA platform and is going to chage the way laptops will be percieved, if you arent satisfied with the improved graphic performance, there is a provision of an port to plug-in an external GPU which was not practical till date.

AMD Ad - Make the right choice

Cool ad featuring Vishy.

No Myth Just Facts - Make the Right Choice

Certainly there are lot of myths and less facts surrounding when it comes to choosing the right processor for your computer, do I sound like an marketing guy trying to convince, hopefully not its all about making the right choice and a choice that works for you not being in a herd mentality (wikipedia has nice article on herd mentality, just to make life easier for all and not to show my capability of internet awareness).

AMD, which everyone know has great products but still most are not aware of its products as much as they do about Intel, well atleast in India. But things are bound to change and the change has happened, Vishwanathan Anand has is now AMD brand ambassador, well obviously Vishy doesn't need introduction, he is the grandmaster in chess just like AMD is to processor, its like AMD is 'Grandmaster Inside' ;).
Vishy is intelligent, proven performer, less glitz and more work, consistent - all qualities which AMD is also know for.

For people who want to break the myths and know facts, there is a cool website www.askvishy.com, wherein Vishy guides you through making the right choice

IPL - Cricket, Money, Fame, Name and the Game and Localization

Cricket has been the mantra this year and last for most of the sports lovers in India, what with ICL - Zee's cricket venture headed by Legendary Kapil Dev completing its first tournament with a moderate success and thereby shackling the foundation of BCCI to sit up and take a note of the rebels (ICL is called though).
Cricket has money, it has fame, one can make a name if they are success in this game, but was BCCI willing to share the booty, yes to an extent but not that much what ICL was offering, but then hats off to Lalit Modi who is the brainchild behing IPL and the way it has been marketed.
It was good to see players being auctioned, big names investing in the local cricket teams and hence proving there is no dearth of money for talent and also thereby allowing other sport bodies in the country to learn how to market themselves.
I see IPL heading the same way as how the Football league is played in the west, moving ahead I see players performing more dedicated to the league than thier country (I am not jumping the gun, but how many times has Ronaldo/Ronaldinho/other top players turned out for thier own country when they have a league game), the reason is obvious, your talent is paid more in the league than turing out for ones country (I maybe be proved wrong, but only by an handful of players), even if the top players turned out, it would be interesting to see if the public would watch them with the same vigour as it is now, because what IPL has done is that it has localized the cricket and now fans would cheer for thier local club which would include players from across the globe and hence taking away the charm when two nations meet to fight out, but I firmly believe that during the world cup the passion would rise again as the stake is more.
The onus is on ICC to ensure that they still are commanding force and dont budge to this money game and make sure that players do turn up (I mean top players) for thier respective countries with the same passion it was before the birth of IPL.

Welcome to the world of localization :)

NANO - Peoples car

2008 is the year of the Indians.
Ratan Tata has finally unveiled the worlds cheapest car at the auto expo 2008, the pride of India and his dream has finally come true in seeing that every two-wheeler affordable indian will be able to get a all weather proof vehicle to carry his/her family.
Never have I felt so excited all my life to see a product launch, I know the excitement of a product launch since I come from a product company, to see the pride in the people who worked on the product and being congratulated and showered all the appraisal in front of the whole world.. hmm... thats a different feeling, one has to experience that to understand how it feels.

The four-door which can seat four-five people car, due to hit the market later this year at just 100,000 rupees ($A2,835), has a small 33bhp 624cc engine at the rear and is targeted at Indians hoping to trade up to four wheels from a motorcycle.

The Tata Nano - which looks almost exactly like a Smart - has no air conditioning, no electric windows and no power steering for the basic model, although two deluxe models will be on offer.

Ratan Tata has proven again that he is not just a dreamer but a doer and shown the whole world that Indians are the best when it comes to commitment and inspite of the prices going high on all accounts of the materials being used in making the car, he has kept his promise to deliver the car as 1 lakh car, and thus making it the worlds cheapest car.

Talking to the huge audience present on the occasion said he said he wanted to make "a safe, affordable and all weather transport -- a people's car, designed to meet all safety standards and emissions laws and accessible to all" and "a car that most people said could not be manufactured at that price."
He also dismissed fears the cheap car would herald more congestion and pollution, arguing the car would be better and far safer than most motorcycles on India's roads.

Hats off to each and every one who worked on this project and made this dream come true, its an ecstatic feeling which will last long enough :).

SHAME SHAME PUPPY SHAME ALL THE MONKEYS KNOW YOUR NAME

Somehow I haven't been able to hold myself back in saying this - ' Shame shame puppy shame, all the monkeys know your name' :)
What a weekend it has been, for once Indian cricket's stand has been vindicated and yes it feels ecstatic that 'Yes' people do listen to us.

If Symonds has complained against Harbhajan, its not the first time, why shouldn't ICC have a test done against Symonds to check if he suffers from inferiority complex, because he is only one who seems to have a problem, he likes to say things and when he gets it back he cannot digest it...... clearly a case for a psychiatrist.

Kudos to BCCI for standing up for the team and acting in the right manner and pulling the right chords for the first time.

ICC by agreeing to almost all the issues raised by BCCI has accepted that there has been mistakes done and mostly against India at Sydney, whether people call it BCCI's money clout that has made this possible, for me its a win for the right cause and from now on this would ensure that the game would be played in a fair manner.

A special thanks to the media which ensured that this sydney fiasco remained their respective top stories and thus putting pressure on ICC.

'INDIA cannot be ignored, if they do, then ultimately cricket would be'

Feel like a 'EUNUCH' in a HAREM

Never have I felt so helpless in my life like I have felt watching the second test at SCG between INDIA and AUSTRALIA.
If certain wrong things that have happened which cost INDIA the match, Yes, we definitely would have won this match comprehensively, if for the those two gentlemen in white coats not used their own brain and instead asked their friend who sits in the cosy AC room and can decide in a more calm way (but many can debate this as the same cool headed 3rd gentleman had lost his cool by not ruling out the man who has the habit to get behind his captain every time someone stares at him or says an 'Hello' and complain to yet another white coated gentlemen)

I feel like a eunuch in a harem, who can only see things happening but cannot do anything, is the Indian team such a toothless tiger that we cannot even make our point, stand up and fight and ask for justice and above all we have our ex-players part of the television crew and cant they suggest what needs to be done, do we have to be the only gentlemen left in this game which has become so competitive that people wouldn't hesitate to play so called mind games by even involving the family members of the opposite team in the pre-match build up.

Its time we should stand up and speak up against the so called racism that is happening to us always by the white coat gentlemen who keep giving us bad decision maybe because they don't like our skin color, thats what I think it is, whom should we complain to - To the ICC, which is nothing but a stuffed toy and not a decision making body, even if it does, its always the sub-continent team which is found to be the guilty one, something I still haven't been able to fathom.

Should we just call the tour off and come back or stay back and fight the battle which anyway we know which way it is going, not because we are not playing good, its something which is beyond our control and it is bound to happen again and all we can do is listen to the commentators that finally 'Test cricket won, even though one team got decisions going against it' what a crap thing to say, why cant that team be Australia?, can someone answer me.

Australia are cry babies when it comes to losing, they don't loose fairly like all other teams, they bring up all issues which are irrelevant to cricket to ensure that they end up on the podium, if we take a look at the number of complaints that has gone from a single team to the match referee, it has to be Australia and most of those times have been when they are about to loose and realize that they do not have a winning edge.

I really do not know when I would stop getting this feeling of being a eunuch in a harem but instead be a hunk in a harem!!!!
